Director, Payment Modernization Fraud Strategy
As the Director, Payment Modernization Fraud Strategy, you are a leading authority on emerging fraud and financial crime management strategies and technologies. You will lead the strategy development of fraud real time decisioning solutions to ensure that the Interac platform is enabled with best in class capabilities. With key internal partners, you will implement new and innovation financial crimes monitoring and reporting solutions involving analytics, detection systems, and client, industry and law enforcement agency input.
This role requires specific knowledge in developing fraud and financial crimes strategies and solutions with emphasis on push payments including domestic e-Transfer and global real-time rails. Strong knowledge of the payment technology landscape is required. Also, knowledge of key regulations related to Bank of Canada and Department of Finance is preferred.

Leading the design and development of fraud & financial crime management programs and systems to help our customers and the industry maintain low fraud levels. And to ensure risk controls can be put in place so that fraud levels do not threaten the profitability of our products and continue to uphold our Brand promise
Ensuring that our current products have a good risk posture/effective fraud management in place, while also leading the development of overall financial crimes mitigation strategies for new products
Recommending mitigating practices, programs, and systems to achieve target fraud levels
Providing key inputs into establishing a quantifiable mechanism to report risks, and applying the mechanism across the organization to ensure a clear path to reporting visibility internally and to our clients.
Designing and delivering the Horizon 1 & 2 fraud roadmap for Interac’s payment modernization schemes with a laser focus on its commercialization and go to market plan
Working in close partnership with Payment Product owners, Client Management, Partnerships, Data Sciences, and other internal teams to deliver a coordinated fraud platform to the ecosystem

Embodying the Organization’s and Fraud Management’s vision to generate excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to action and continuous improvement.
Setting clear and definitive goals, strategies, product positioning and execution plans. Successfully socialize all of these activities with both internal and external stakeholders.
Creating an environment that is highly responsive to change and engagement of stakeholders.
Project Leadership
Working with Interac’s Project Management Office to deliver agreed upon features, capabilities, policy and regulations in full, on time, on budget, and with agreed benefits in accordance with corporate methodologies.
Embracing the Product Development and Lifecycle Management Processes, stage gates, and a disciplined approach to product development.
Strategy, Planning, & Development
Leading analytical activities, developing appropriate analytic frameworks and scoping the work plans to deliver high quality Market Requirements, Business Requirements and Business Cases.
Leading and maintaining fraud product policies with respect to push payments and provide insight and direction for overall e-Transfer product fraud policies.
Determining and recommending alliances, partnerships, vendor contracts and work with the appropriate colleagues to deliver these.
Who are you?
You have a bachelor’s degree, an MBA would be an asset
You have at least ten (10) years of relevant working experience, with at least two (2) years in a management role (ideally with hands-on experience) focused on establishing and implementing Financial Crime and Fraud Risk Management (FCFRM) and Real Time Decisioning strategies, with wide-ranging knowledge of risk management analytics practices and procedures
Management Consulting Experience considered a strong asset
You have two (2) years of strong people leadership skills and experience (mentoring, motivating, coaching, etc.) with experience cultivating high performance teams
You can set and drive the “big picture” strategy while also having the capability to provide detailed technical and process guidance to the team
You can create a strong culture of collaboration and partnership with cross-functional peers
You have strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
You excel at presenting complex topics to internal/external stakeholders and Industry forums
You can effectively represent the company as a thought leader and SME on behavioral science, AI, machine learning IQ, advanced strategies and technologies
