IT Architect – Infrastructure

You will work alongside Interac’s Architecture community and technology partners, serving as a lead Infrastructure Architect for our organization.  You will be part of a team that establishes technology roadmaps, and be responsible to develop, and lead the implementation of new Infrastructure solutions across a number of different applications and platforms including cloud.  You’ll work with different solution architects, development & operations teams and vendors to develop and lead infrastructure solutions.

Establishing yourself as a trusted infrastructure architect within the Architecture community based on your ability to lead, design, and deliver infrastructure based on-prem and cloud solutions
Building strategic and tactical roadmaps through understanding the big picture, how application, database, networking, storage DevOps and security technologies come together to build an enterprise solution
Evaluating and recommending solution options
Self-educating on industry updates (i.e., read industry publications, maintain personal networks, participate in professional organizations, participate in educational opportunities, etc.)
Working closely with solution and enterprise architects to develop overall solutions.
Distilling large complex problems into a format that is understandable
Finding opportunities for improvement by challenging the status quo and suggesting alternative and creative solutions
Promoting and aligning teams around high-quality, highly available solution patterns
Influencing senior management in setting the organization’s technical objectives though a rational approach

Leading, communicating and resolving cross team dependencies and conflicts.
Working with partners and internal business units teams to build and support new systems and client service offerings
Designing and developing systems to automate infrastructure and platform services

Who are you?

You have a Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
You have 12+ years of experience with a variety of hands on and progressively more senior infrastructure technology roles with the last 3 years being in Infrastructure Architecture preferred
You have senior level knowledge and experience of design and implementation of mission critical, high volume real-time enterprise systems, with relevant specialization in infrastructure (Linux, Oracle, virtualization) including hosted or hybrid (cloud) solutions, and communication architectures
You are capable of performing investigations and evaluation of new technologies, can forecast the necessity and visibility of modifying organization’s technology strategy. Capable of building strategic and tactical roadmaps
You possess highly specialized skills in IT Infrastructure to expand Interac’s technology footprint and to increase operational efficiencies in support of Interac’s business objectives
You have a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and leading-edge IT Infrastructure and Cloud technologies in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business
You exercise a high degree of autonomy when making decisions that impact segment or function deliverables
You can identify strategic issues that need to be addressed and convenes appropriate parties to select the optimal path
You have the ability to influence without authority and have sound written and verbal communication skills
You are capable of creating strong business relationships with key stakeholders to enlist their active support
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
