Systems Engineering Senior Specialist:
As a Systems Engineering Senior Specialist, you’ll be part of a team of IT professionals, focused on ensuring that our critical corporate and commercial payment systems are ready, and battle tested. You’re a senior infrastructure engineer who can contribute to the needs in system operations, resiliency testing, security hardening, and performance engineering.
You’re comfortable taking on new engineering challenges, defining potential solutions, and implementing designs in a team environment. You will also play an important role in our organization’s evolution towards contemporary application and infrastructure management practices and will be expected to both guide and support the team’s growth and learning.

Providing system administration services and support for on-prem, co-location, AWS, and Azure infrastructure
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of RHEL operating system components and system software packages
Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
Automating processes when possible; documenting them and keeping the documentation up to date
Automate infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible etc.
Contributing to DevOps and inter-departmental initiatives to maintain or improve system availability, security, and performance
Are passionate about building systems that are highly reliable, maintainable, and scalable
Assist with architectural designs, requirements gathering, platform scaling, and building infrastructure
Acting as the subject matter expert for infrastructure and platform concerns including monitoring, logging, security, configuration management etc.
Designing and orchestrating project deployments to cloud and dedicated server infrastructure, providing systems infrastructure expertise to project teams
You are great at leading and/or participating in projects with cross-functional team members
IaaS/server/virtualization management and administration
Pragmatic problem-solving and dealing with complex systems
Who are you?
You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study and/or 7+ years of equivalent IT working experience
5+ years professional experience as a senior Linux administrator (RHEL 6.x, 7.x preferred)
3+ years professional experience with Windows Server Administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, SQL Clusters etc.)
3+ years professional experience with VMware
3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS with deep knowledge and understanding of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3)
You have a strong understanding of Cloud Native Architecture and cloud security principles
You have experience in AWS IAM policy preparation for cloud Security
You have experience designing, building, and operating mission critical, high-volume, high-availability infrastructure for software platforms
You have extensive experience working with configuration management technologies such as Puppet, Chef, and/or Ansible
You have experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell/Bash/Python
You have working knowledge of Red Hat Network Satellite Server 5.x and 6.x.
You have knowledge of IP networking, VPN’s, load balancing and firewall
You have a strong working experience with monitoring (e.g. Splunk/AppDynamics, SolarWinds etc.) and notification systems
You have a security first mindset and have a thorough understanding of security principals and concerns
You are willing to participate in an on-call rotation to support the platform infrastructure
Nice to haves:
Professional and/or Specialty level AWS certifications
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certification
Experience in the building, maintaining, and deploying of docker containers
Experience working in Agile project delivery teams or experience in DevOps engineering
Experience in cloud deployment templating using offerings such as CloudFormation and/or Terraform
Understanding of microservices and application architecture
