Senior Technical Systems Analyst – Production Support Full Time

What is the opportunity?

As a Technical System Analyst within the Core Banking and Systems Modernization (CBSM) group of RBC, you would provide exceptional support and IT services for our business critical application, called the Product and Pricing platform, assisting users regarding their technical, operational and business needs. The Sr. Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for partnering up with various IT and business stakeholders in order to assess, analyze and recommend business and technical solutions, and lead the development and integration of end-to-end technical solutions that resolve application/system issues and meet business needs.

What will you do?

As a member of the CBSM group team, you will:

• Troubleshoot and resolve application support incidents related to Product and Pricing platform on Linux OS Platform
• Provides day to day support of monitoring server health, monitoring event logs, planning for and performing software upgrades which includes testing and execution of deployment across the enterprise
• Leads detailed design phases for small to large projects/ programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues
• Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
• Work cross functionally outside the team with Risk, Engineering and Packaging/Deployment to improve and mitigate security threats ensuring best practices and efficiencies are established which includes automating processes where possible
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior members to the team
• Participate in pager rotation format 24×7 Application Support if needed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Minimal 3 years of industry experience in a Technical role across many technologies
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, trouble-shoot, solve problems and implement appropriate solutions
• Understanding of infrastructure integration and deployment, application server and support, application systems design and integration, along with security standards and technologies
• Capability to manage multiple priorities across a number of assignments and prioritize effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

Nice-to-have

• Knowledge of Apache software, such as KAFKA, NiFi and Zookeeper
• Knowledge of Network Infrastructure in multi-OS client/server platforms
• Ability to create Zeke Jobs, write JCL’s , Create Shell Commands, Procedures for automation purposes
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK
