Working in a complex and fast-paced environment, TMX Group’s Human Resources department is a high-performing well-respected team responsible for providing TMX Group and its subsidiaries with the full suite of Human Resources services. Working closely with business and corporate area leaders as well as with senior HR colleagues, the Director, Employee and Organizational Development will be accountable for the implementation of learning, development and change initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness by building Individual and collective capabilities. This role is responsible for creating open, collaborative relationships across TMX to drive a culture that will support and shape an enriching employee experience and continually grow the know-how and change readiness of our employee base.
Key Accountabilities :
Advancing a Learning Culture
Be the requisite authority on performance consulting and organization development to the HR team and the company. Collaborate with internal clients to decode and detangle performance gaps to ensure the right solutions are developed – referring over to other HR COE’s if learning is not the right solution.
Design and execute a learning strategy for the organization that is sustainable, scalable, measurable, and cost effective.
Lead the pursuit of operational excellence by deploying learning best practices, keeping the organization moving forward with the most current and appropriate methodologies
Research and deploy digital methods and technology learning platforms as a tool to train, educate and reinforce learning.
Partner with the broader HR team to engage and gather input from employees across the organization to inform development strategies and ensure successful deployment
Oversee the ongoing maintenance and enhancements of the Learning Management System to ensure the user experience is optimal.
Own and advance TMX’s policy on employee training and development. Establish a consistent organizational approach to required training and compliance activities.
Manage external vendors and consultants to virtually extend the capacity and capability of the TMX’s learning function.
Represent the company at peer learning and conference events so that TMX can be the beneficiary of new trends. Help enhance the TMX brand more broadly in the HR community so that we can attract great talent to the company. Form partnerships with best in class training suppliers.
Developing our Talent
Develop TMX’s approach to leadership development and implement targeted development programs as required.
Integrate our career pathing and competency frameworks into all major HR programs and Employee Communications as appropriate to bring them to life and reinforce their criticality.
Work closely with other HR leaders to establish and provide the tools required for managers to manage team and individual performance and development, including feedback and performance assessment.
Provide support in identifying and creating effective development plans related but not limited to leadership, high potential individuals, team and individual plans, succession planning program, etc.
Bring thought leadership to the best way to develop mid-management and executive leaders
Support Senior HR Business Partners in becoming impactful executive coaches.
Aligning the Organization and Facilitating Change
Contribute to the development of the organization’s cultural priorities, and identify the actions or activities required to support successful culture change.
Lead development initiatives that promote an inclusive and respectful workplace across the organization
Support the launch of new initiatives where new skills or reskilling are required and where more than traditional training is required to bring about the desired behavior change to create a learning organization.
Develop the organization’s change management muscle by ensuring all major initiatives have change management plans which contribute to successful implementation of the initiative.
Facilitate senior level meetings where significant organizational development/alignment is at the heart of what needs to be accomplished.
Engage key talent from across the company in becoming facilitators of learning as a way to develop their communication and persuasion skills.
Design, deliver and evaluate development programs and activities to drive employee engagement to ensure an inclusive work environment.
Skills and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or Training and Development preferred
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Learning and Development, Organizational Change Management, Instructional Design and/or facilitation of adult learning
In depth knowledge of innovative learning technologies including social, mobile, micro learning and gamification
Business acumen and organizational skills to deliver results in a complex fast-paced environment
Led complex, sophisticated and innovative change initiatives and solutions
Able to establish credibility and trust through a strong consultative approach and track record of execution
Strong communication and influencing skills – able to engage and facilitate conversation at all levels within the organization
Experience in managing and developing others
Team player – enjoys being part of a group which gets more done by working together
Bilingual English/French is an asset
