Summer Intern, Security Systems Analyst Internship

The Junior Systems Security Analyst will be tasked with working with members of the Information Security Office, executing a number of unique and varied activities. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring, In conjunction with the SOC Team, security systems and events in order to enhance our ability to manage an evolving cyber security threat landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with day to day office duties for the Security Operations Centre (SOC)
Perform administrative duties for SOC and Engineering team as required
Work with Security Analysts on researching security technologies, threats,  and mitigation techniques
Work on maintenance, patch and upgrade road-map for Security technologies and services
Research vulnerabilities and attacks, suggest mitigation(s) and impacting factors
Research and analytics to generate metrics and KPIs for the SOC to pass onto Senior Management
Scripting to help automate tasks in a variety of environments
Periodically update information security procedures, architectures, standards and guidelines, and/or other technical requirement documents needed to advance information security.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed First year in Information Security/Computer Science Program or equivalent
Knowledge in Information Security; security-related infrastructure/technology associated with networks, internet, messaging, operating systems, firewalls, intrusion detection, cryptography, Wi-Fi, cloud, vulnerabilities, threat landscape and intelligence
Strong analytical and research skills
Working experience in office environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A team player with very strong interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, hardworking, flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a dedicated team in a demanding environment.
Google G-Suite experience is a bonus
