The Post Trade Modernization initiative will impact on all the core systems at the Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) that currently provide services in the Canadian Capital Markets through Canadian Issuers, Banks, Brokers and other Key Stakeholders by providing a new, refreshed and modern platform for Clearing, Settlement, Depository, Entitlement, Corporate Action and Tax services. The Post Trade Modernization Business Analyst will assist with various tasks associated with Change Readiness both internally within CDS Integrated Operations and externally within the Industry. He/she will work closely with the Change Readiness Project Manager and the Head of Post Trade Modernization, Client Engagement to ensure deliverables are being met leading to the ultimate success of this initiative.
The PTM Business Analyst is responsible for executing key deliverables associated with CDS key stakeholder readiness that are set out in the Integrated Project Plan (IPP) ensuring assigned tasks and deliverables associated with the project are effectively managed and completed using the TMX PMO standards, processes, best practices and tools.
Key Accountabilities :
Works with the Project Manager to ensure that all required project tasks assigned are completed and exceptions are documented and approved
Assists, when required, in the preparation of data collection and analysis in support of PTM initiatives.
Participate in the strategy, creation and delivery of presentations to inform/educate/train clients via training materials/documentation, e-learning, interactive Q&A sessions and/or other communication mediums.
Assist in the development of metrics for tracking progress on key stakeholder training completion.
Follows up with action item owners to obtain updates and ensure that progress is being made according to the target resolution date
Coordinates and schedules internal and external meetings related to the project
Monitors the project plan and follow up with resources as necessary to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule
Ensures project artefacts are stored in the project’s document repository along with all required approvals
Effectively and accurately communicates relevant project information and updates to the readiness project team
Provides insight to TMX strategies regarding participant engagement
Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by his/her Manager
Skills :
Work with Subject Matter Experts to map out business processes using flow chart methods
Flexible to take on a variety of tasks, organized to keep track and diligent to ensure completion
Demonstrated analytical skills and comfortable working with large amounts of data – ability to organize and digest date into meaningful output
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with a wide range of people
Proven ability to provide excellent client service, build relationships, and work in a team oriented environment
Confident presenting and marketing products/services
Ability to explain complex information in simple terms
Strong negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

A good working knowledge of the Canadian Securities Industry and the Global Capital Markets
A change leader with a willingness and ability to adapt to a changing environment and responsibilities
Bilingual with the ability to speak, write and read in both French and English is an asset
Experience/Education :
University degree, preferably in Business
Experience / involvement in large Projects, is an asset
Experience in the financial industry is preferred
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other desktop applications
